Planting a tree

Leen and her friend from school planned to plant a tree. But not just any kind of tree.... no. A special tree...a very special tree indeed.

They have actually planted a pens tree....

Yes... you haven't misread anything. .. its a pens tree.

Turns out they took a pen cap and planted it in the school garden. ...and every day they water it in hopes that it will bloom into many pens.

I just wonder. ..should I tell her that nothing will come out of this or let her figure it out on her own.

Hmmm ....another not too real santa.

...It's fleece was white as snow...

I have been telling my husband to go for a haircut for a while now.

He is too lazy to do it but i think he is about to speed up now.

This morning on our way to drop Leen to her school bus, she lied down on the back seat sofa.

And before she dozes off she said : "Daddy, Your hair looks like the fleece of a sheep"

:))) I couldnt stop laughing and he was stunned.

Nothing better than taking a kids opinion. you will always get the truth out of them.

A friend on facebook once wrote, "If you want to know if you are fat or not, give a child a pencil and a paper and ask them to draw you. If they start by drawing a ball, you are in danger!" :))

So true... honesty is often a bruiser!! :)

Cartoon Damage!

Leen is now almost 5 and hence usually sits in the backseat of the car - not a car seat - and fastens the seat belt like the rest of us. She had no problem with it until recently she started expressing annoyance and didnt buckle up.

Yesterday her dad told her to fasten her seat belt over and over and over again (10 times according to her story) but she still didnt. He ended up scolding her and she ended up in tears.

When they picked me up, Leen was obviously still upset. So i asked whats wrong and she said.. " I dont wanna tell you coz you will put me in the punish chair and you wont play with me"

I ended up getting her to fess up and tell me what happened and that she hasnt been listening to dads instructions about the seat belt and all.

So i thought maybe if i convinced her of the idea behind wearing the seatbelt she will understand. I started explaining that we fasten the seat belt incase someone bumps into us and thats an unpredictable thing that happens suddenly. And if it does while we arent wearing the seat belts we will fly out of our seat, break the windshield and fly out in the street. which means that we will get badly injured.

To this graphic emphasis of an accident, her respone was.. "Tom (from Tom & Jerry) fell infront of a car before and it drove over him more than once... he became flat, but he was fine again"

!!!!!!

SO i started explaining that Tom is a cartoon... he isnt real. And that if we were hit we would die and never get better again.

She on the other hand started finding other stories from Tom & Jerry and began narrating the episodes that had other car accidents... and Tom and Jerry were always fine again!

We ended this conversation with the fact that cartoons arent real and that Tom or Jerry can blow his finger up into a hammer... CAN YOU?!

I think the idea got through or so i hope... in the mean time we will just keep reminding her to fasten her seat belts.

DUH...Cartooons!!!

Who's the MAAAAAN...

Leen now 4 years and almost 9 months old can pretty much handle herself.

She goes to the toilet alone, brushes her teeth as good as she can, dresses and undresses herself... (most of the time, unless that shirt is too tight )

She has recently developed the idea of choosing her own clothes. Every morning i wake her up to go to her summer school and dress her to what i think is suitable she refuses gallantly and demands to wear what she wants.. which isnt always ready..(ie clean or ironed). We started arguing almost every morning since im usually running late and she is crying!!

So her dad (lucky her) suggested that if she wants to wear somethign specific she needs to make it ready the night before. She was more than happy with the suggestion and took it into consideration,

Now when she is too sleepy and doesnt want to get her clothes ready she says.."Mom, dress me the way you want tomorrow!"

LOL... that actually sounds so generous..even though i know the motives behind it! :)

She just surprises me more everyday.

Adorable!!

Her 1st Embarrassing Question

A few days ago...Leen asked her dad..."Why do boys have something different than girls down there?"

And he simply answered "Coz God made boys pee from here, while girls pee from there"

Thats it.

Simple question gets a simple answer.

With my brain set i would probably give much longer more detailed answers... but i guess that was the most suitable answer for a little girl turning 4 in a couple of month.

THUMBS UP DADDYY!! :)

Breast vs chest

On our way back from the pool. Leen wanted to sleep. So seif my cousins son asked her if she wanted to sleep fe 7odnu. So she said noo...u dont have a breast! :) funnyy

Do it yourself

Today Leen decided to do her own laundry. She put her load of SINGLE PAJAMA and undershirt in the washing machine.

THEN... she put washing detergent in the machine drawer which ofcourse resulted in spilling some soap.

So she fetched her broom and collecting bin in order to clean up her mess which ofcourse only made it worse.

She gave up on the cleaning and called me seeking help. SOOO i went to see what happened and soon enough i saw the mess.

When i almost scolded her for the mess thinking that she was playing with the soap i asked her what happened and she  explained what she has been trying to do.

I totally changed my mind about the scolding part and told her not to do this again coz she placed too much soap and she spilt on the ground... let alone that her load is too little.

She just reminded me of Sebastian from the Little Mermaid.. "If you want something done... you gotta do it... Yourself! "

Love her
