Leen's latest game is playing "Doctor'. The good version :)

She takes one of my hair bands puts it on top of her head to her ears and then takes one of her old pacifier chains and attaches it to her self and starts moving it on us as if she is examining us.

She checks our ears our mouth our tummy chest and back with her hand made doctors stethescope.

And of course she makes sound effects when she wants to give us a shot.

First Joke

Today while Leen was on the potty calling out and saying " KHALAAAAAST" as usual so i went to her and was joking and saying like the masra7eya "ana geit shah2a ya ramadan".

So she said " Enty Ramadan?" So i smiled and said "Yes".

To which she replied " Wana Shawwaaal"

Loooool i couldnt believe me ears. She obviously didnt mean to make a joke. Its just the relevance of the word to what she learned in the nursery.

But to me, it was the joke of the day.

Right now... she went to her dad and told him "ba7ebak". Keda out of the blue. He just asked me if shes upset with me and hence winning him over. But i said no.

So he said "Ba7ebbek ya leen" and she replied.. wana kaman ba7ebak. Ana ba7ebak awi"

I know mohameds heart flutters when he hears her say that... especially when its not followed by " i want chocolate" or" enta 3andak bonbony?"

LOOOL. Adorable.

Smart Alec

It was a couple of weeks ago when we went to my inlaw place. Uncle khalil..leens grandpa was playing with her. So she sat in my lap and everytime he approached she would cover her eyes. Then he would say"wheres leen?? Does anyone see her?" And when she uncovers her eyes he says " ooooh there she is". She was having so much fun.

Then i said. " leen..do u really think we cant see u when u cover up ur eyes? Ok let me try" so i cover up my eyes and ask her "hey leen... can u see me like that?" And she instantly replied... "No" :)

I laughed my head off. She knew what i was aiming for... but nothing i do will ruin her fun :)

We just kept on doing it then :)

Techno kid

Just saw leen carry the laptop off the foldable table.. put it on the sofa. Then disassembled the table sat on the sofa and put the laptop on her lap. And before she started this process she actually paused the video she was watching on youtube and then when she was done she played it.

After the first video was finished... she clicked on another clip. And while it took sometime to lload i heard her from the other room shouting " yalla ba2a... khallas loading ba2a... khallasny" looool ( come on and load quickly)

She simply fascinates me everyday with the stuff she can do.

Naughtyyyyy

Leen was with her dad the other day in the car on their way to the nursery. The weather was nice so Mohamed (her dad and my hubby) decided to keep the windows open.

And while he was driving, the air blew through her hair ofcourse and kepton coming into her eyes and her mouth. She patiently moved it away. Then it happened again... and she swiftly moved it again...
Then it happened again.. then again..then again and again.

At the end she pulled her hair off her face and started screaming at it.. "NAAAAUGHTYYY NAUUUGHTYY NAUGHTTTY"

Wish i was there to see that, coz just hearing about cracked me up! :)

Bully girl

Leens teacher walaa keeps on tellinh us that leen is scary around boys. She bosses them around and is very brutal. Some of the stories were:

1. One of the boys tried to kiss her so she slapped him so hard he swirled in his place and fell to the ground

2. A nice boy andrew was sitting in a chair so she stood infront of him and ordered him to get up. He didnt. So she pulled him off it.

3. A boy was palying with a toy mobile. When he was done he put it in his pocket. She moved her chair slowly to sit beside him then pulled the mobile out of his pocket saying "hal3ab beeh shuwaya" as if its her right.

Well it kinda is since all the toys are shared... :))

I think my little girl is gonna be a bully. Rabena yostor!!

Some trip photos

Sea, Sun & Everything Fun

LAst week we were in the North coast (Marina). We had so much fun... we went swimming everyday.

Leen had a blast the most coz she did nothing but play play play.. so many kids so many activities... it was a roller coaster ride for her! :)

the last couple of days her cousin lamar came, and they started swimming together. Lamar wanted to hold someones hand all the time at first but then Leen intervened and told me "La2 sebeeeha... 3ommy wa7dek". One time and then another.. and there she was holding lamars hand and they swam away together... Not too far away ofcourse.

On the other hand... leen had a prob with going under water... But Lamar did it so well... so she started fearing the consequences less. I told Leen if you go under water... blow your nose... then i started watching her and she really did. Its good she listens.

Lamar also taught her to sleep on her back... Well as much as she can ofcourse... its kinda hard with two large arm floaters attached to you :)

On the last day we had in the pool... my cousin Lulu came over with her two boys Youdi and Sony. Sony didnt get in the water much... just dipped his feet and maybe went down to his waist a bit then came out. Youdi on the other hand was all over th eplace with seif and ahmed... having fun. I went out of the pool to cover Sony coz he wanted out and was cold... Then came back to the pool side looking for leen...
To find her in the water being pushed down and running out of breath by Youdi.

I shouted out ofcourse and jumped in the water to pull her up. And i asked youdi, what was ahppening,... and he so innocently said.. i was hugging her. :))

It was cute but deadly cute.. he would have eventually let go but im not sure how long it wouldve taken... especially that he has no floaters and he isnt the best swimmer yet. Anyway i explained to him that he shouldnt hug her in the water coz they both go down and she cant handle that!

Anyway.. the memory if her face so full of panic and the kicking that she made for someone running out of breath is one memory i cant erase and it scares the hell out of me. Oh yeah ofcourse she cried when i pulled her up coz she felt like.. that was a close one... but as cute as kids are... no heart feelings between them... she went back to play with him and all was good.

This vacation was full of events... but thats one event the really stood out! :)

I wanna go back on some more vacation time..... soon

Teena walla teena??

Mhmd asked leen the other day " taklee teena?" Ie figs. To which she replied. " la  ya pappy teena 3ala el ba7r mesh ben7otu fe bo2ena" she meant teena as in mud. Its ok shes still no very fimiliar with arabic alphabet phonetics.... and oh man is she in for a surpriiise :))

Arabic dictation and grammer could get quite tricky :) good luck babe.

ME ME ME

These days leen has an urge for independance. She wants to do things on her own. Dress her self, shower herself, feed herself ofcourse, do anythign she can and CANT on her own.

Lately shes been insisting on washing herself after peeing or pooping... She leens to the side turns the toilet shower, put her hand inside her toilet seat and washes up herself :)))))) Its funny and it makes me feel like shes grown.

Ofcourse i wash her again just to make sure she is clean enough.

Oh she also takes a piece of tissue from the toilet roll and wipes herself!

SO ADORABLE...but if i leave her like that she will be dripping in her clothes so i dry her again too.

She now opens doors... the easy knobs in the house... not every knob.. so thank god she cant open the apartment door. :)

She undress herself from her bottoms... whether it be pants or panties!! :)
But she says (mesh ba3araf) when it comes to the tops and blouses!! :)

She always wants to wear her socks on her own but she didnt master that yet and she can wear some of her lacefree shoes on her own! :)

She puts the TV on but she doesnt know the cable's remote system very well... to be honest its a bit complicated! :)

She puts the lights on and off. She opens the cupboard to bring her blocks and put them back. And ofcourse she feeds herself and drinks on her own... and it kills me when she decides to drink directly from a bottle coz that will ofcourse result in a full outfit change!

So now you see what i mean by "ME ME ME??"

I seeee uuuuuuuu

Leen a couple of nites ago came out of her bed pushed open our room door and stood in the dark saying " i can seeeee youuuu". It doesnt sound so bad but it scared the hell out of me however made me and her dad burst laughing.

Trip to MacDonalds

We were at MacDonalds yesterday with my husbands brother and his little family. The kids wanted to go and play in those weird colorful tubes and slides they have.

Leen thought she could give it a try and went in with her older cousins.. 8 and 10 year olds. She had to have someone obviosuly coz some of the tubes were steep and others had high connections she couldnt get over alone.

As soon as they went in and passed the first spacei can see them through, Shahd asked her brother ahmed... Hey... where's Leen?.. Their mother and i looked at each other and laughed.

Then ahmed said.. i dont know... wait ill look for her.. and the shahd said oh oh i found her khalas.. shes with me now! :)))))

It was truly a very comforting conversation :)

i went back to my table and then shahd got her back coz she was crying to get out! Not really crying just demanding!! :)

Anyway she wanted potty.. so we went to the toilet where we waited for auntie to come out of the toilet. She kept on singing and counting the squares on the walls until auntie came out. And leen asked me... heya esmaha eh? whats her name... so i said i dont know... we can ask her when we go out.

Meanwhile while she was on the potty, someone else came in and wanted the stall. (yeah its one stall). So i told leen... yalla hurry up coz auntie wants to use the toilet. so she looked at me in an inquisitive way and said @bas heya 3amalet khalas".... So i said "no de taunt tanya" and she said " aaaa taunt tanya...esmaha eh?"

hehhe i said u can ask her when we go out of here too just get it over. :)

And that was the conversation between a mother and a 2.5 year old. Not so bad.. there is a conversation.

I sometimes feel she grew up so quickly even if she is just 2. She sits in a normal chair like ours... she eats her potatoes and drinks her juice... she is just adorable,,, MASHAALLAAA we ALLAHU Akbar! :)

My Waaaay

LAst weekend we were in SOkhna... and as usual leen wakes up so early and wants everyone else to wake up so she can play.

So she sat by my side in the ned and started singing some color song that she was taught in the nursery.

"Red and orange, green and blue, Shiny yellow purple too... blabla bla bla bla bla are the colors of the rainbow"

She went on and on with it and in the mid of me listening i was trying to figure out what the song really said. ANyway i oppened my mobile, browsed the net until i found the wording.

Then i started correcting her while she sang. She followed my directions for a while and then she put her little hand on my mouth and said "eskoty"... ie be quite.

HEHEHEH i laughed so much coz she just wanted to s ing for now and not learn anything! it was a funny way of expressing herself

Leens Latest

Two days ago... i was upset with Leen so i refused to give her any candy. So she in turn told me i was naughty and that she would tell "Athar" about me. (Athar is one of my close friends) I bet athar would be ecstatic to hear about that! :))

Leen also has a new trend now... she crosses her arms and tells me...shofty ba2a?
SHe makes me LAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!

And a couple of days ago i put some candy in my pocket to for her and her cousin at some point in the day. She heard somethign crackle in my pocket so she started snooping behind me saying.. "enty m3aky eh? m3aky eh ya mommy ha??" so i said de floos.. floos!! as in coins! And she said floooos aaaaah1!! ok

Thats a first

Today was Leens first day to spend it aaaaaall without pampers. We peed before we left every station :) went to my friends place. No pampers for the road. She peed in the potty 3 times. We went home and i put her on the potty while she was asleep but ofcourse she was fussy when i wanted to put her undies and pjs back on.... but we managed. Im sooooooo proud of her. Today is a milestone in our life. From today leen is pampers free. :)) yeeeeeeey

WEEEE DID IT

The first pampers free nite went perfectly. She didnt wake up in the middle of the nite and she didnt wet herself. I didnt even wake up in the middle the nite to put her on the potty. But i did wake her up to pee at 5:30 am which was ok by me coZ i couldnt sleep anymore wondering if she got wet or not. Im so happy it went well like that. Ill be trying to go out without pampers from now on. Will take her potty with me in the car though. Rabenna yostor :)

Pampers free night

Tonight is leens first nite without pampers. She went potty at 8:30 and fell asleep at 9:30. I have plastic under her bedsheet... hope the crunch doesnt wake her :) we didnt drink anything we last went potty but im not sure if i should put her on the toilet now or not! Maybe ill stay up til 12 am and put her on the potty. Not sure what i should do. Maybe ill look it up online. Lets see. Hope the nite passes smoothly :) gooood night

latest leen episodes

Today leen was playing with her blocks and then she started talking to them saying estant shuwaya. Haroo7 ageeb 7aga. Ie wait a minute ill go get smthinhg and come back. So cute :)

Then while she was watching barney on my lap she fell asleep and when barneys song started singing along for a bit :) during her sleep. This barney occupies a big part of her brain :)))))

Today she had an accident and peed in ber pants. While I put her on the potty she started saying lamar big girl shatra. Te3mel peepee potty bas. So I asked her and what about u.. so she said I'm naughty 3ashan 3amalty peepee 3a nafsek. I taped it video on my mob. Its funny.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

Last night while sleeping in my bed and talking to my hubby at 2:00am in the morning, i turn around and open my eyes to see something standing by my bed in the dark. I FREAKED OUT. I almost cried. Turned out to be Leen very silently standing by my bed coz she knows i will tell her to go to bed. For a moment there i felt like i was inside "the grudge".

Boy i wish she would sleep in her bed without coming over in the middle of the night like that... creeping in!!

Ofcourse i sing it with her coz i love this song.

Then she doesnt know the rest to sing along so she only manages to say "3aleesh" and "3ayateeesh"

And while we watched, Leen looked at the screen and started saying..
"3ammu naughty?"....so i said yes. "edrabu 2a2a weshu?" so i said 2a2a yes.

She said "3azlana mennak ya 3ammu"

Obviously kids see something that we dont see, coz her 4 year old cousin Lamar did the same thing exactly while she was at home with her mom ( in another house).

Puppy sleeps

Leen now ofcourse sleeps in her bed (normal bed) with the side bar up so she wouldnt fall out. She has been in the habit of sometimes waking up at night and coming to our room and asking us to sleep inour bed. i usually hate to say no but i have to and usually her dad handles that part and i keep quite so she would think im sleeping and cant hear her. Coz if I say no the crying wont stop.. but when her dad explains that im asleep and she cant sleep with me she kinda takes a hint nicely.

Anyway, In the middle of the night yesterday i woke up with the feeling of something on top of my head that is very annoying and i couldnt sleep from it. I woke up only to find Leen who somehow climbed on top of me and was sleeping horizontally over my pillow on top of my head like a dog!!

i know that while i was asleep i kept on pushing something from the top of my head away but i didnt know what it is coz i was very sleepy. Then when i started to wake up a bit i found her there.

I woke mohamed up and asked him.. how did she get here from her room without us noticing and looks like none of us had any clues!

He carried her back to her bed but we laughed our heads off.

Chatterbox

As everyone knows we have had a peoples revolution that lasted around 18 days after which we finally over threw our 30 year ruling mubarak. Anyway we stayed around 2 weeks at my parents house. All of us including my sis and her 4 year old daughter. Leen of course was home all day with lamar which made her catch up big time on her vocab. She can make sentences now... Totally adorable. But the prob now is... She wont shut up. And im not sure how to handle that. Im already having headaches. Oh god pls help.

Cuteness in Anecdotes

Last Monday, we were having lunch at my aunts place. And while Leens daddy was talking he was imitating someone who is spitting. The Leen came up and started yelling at him and telling him "Teffy 3alaya???" (Are you spitting at me?) "Teffy tany ABADAN" (NEVER Spit again), "3eib, ghalat" (Thats inappropriate and wrong), "2oooly sorry (Say you're sorry).

So we all stood there wide eyed... holding our laughter as best as we can.... and her dad said I'm Sorry. And she replied "OK, malesh" (Meaning youre forgiven).
Then we all laughed our heads off!!

As for every other day when she wants me or her dad to sit with her in her room while she plays, she comes up to us and says "emseky 2eedy" (ie hold my hand) so we do. Then she says "2oomy, ta3aly barra" (ie get up and come out). She means go inside the room but she has a problem with go out and come in coz when she is in our room we always tell her to get out. :) I think it could get confusing!! :) Her dad can never tell her no when she does that. He HAS to go to the room with her no matter what he is doing! She is so charming sometimes! :)

Then yesterday while i was on the computer and she sat on my lap, i was saying its cold... I'm cold. So she started asking "bardana mummy?" (are you cold mummy?) so i said yes its cold... so she said "wreeny?" (ie show me!) and she held my hand and started pressing on it like i do when i wanna check on how cold her fingers or hands are. :) and then she said "malesh mummy" (its ok mummy).

She was so cute!!! SOOOOOOOOOOO CUTE!! :)

I totally forgot to mention the new milestone in Leens life since around 19 December 2010 or so.
Leen is no longer breastfed!!

Yaay for me more than her ofcourse! :)

She now drinks milk in the glass like big girls! :)

Every now and then she says "3ayza malan" pointing to me but i tell her do u want milk in a glass and she says no "3ayza malan bas" and i say no there is no more milk here.... we only drink milk in the glass coz we are big girls.

Then she remembers that and says ok "3ayza malan fokkaya" :)

It is indeed a milestone and an important event in our lives. No more shirt tugging in the street or any of those embarrassing moments! :)

Parenting...Sucks sometimes!

We are still potty training Leen till now. But right now she just needs to pee in the toilet more than pop. She got the poop right al7amdulella.

when she pees in her pants i put her int he naughty corner as usual. So the last time i did that and when the 2 minutes were done i told her to get up and pick her toys and put them back in her toy basket.

so she diligently stood up and started gathering her blocks in their box and the teddy bears and other toys in their toy basket.

Then and to my surprise she went back alone and sat in the naughty corner.

At that point i was literally gonna cry. I felt so bad for her. But she got it coming... Yest she did!

Parenting can sometimes be so difficult! :(
